Firmware Operations
Performing the file-level backup, restore, reset, and firmware upgrade on the 5G router.
Backup & Restore
The EZR35-LTE router provides an easy way to back up and restore the previous configurations. Please back up your router configuration before making changes.

i. Backup
After accessing the router, navigate to "System > Backup / Flash Firmware." Under the primary "Actions" tab, find the first "Backup" section. Click the "Generate Archive" button to download the archive of current router configurations.
Do not modify the archive file to avoid MD5 verification failures during restoration. You can disable the auto-unzip feature in the Sarafi browser or use another web browser to download the backup archive file.
ii. Restore
To restore previously saved router configurations, please navigate to "System > Backup / Flash Firmware > Actions: Restore."
Click the "Choose File" button to load the previously downloaded archive file. Click the "Upload Archive" button to upload the archive.
Flash Firmware
Navigate to "System > Backup / Flash Firmware" and scroll down to the last sections of "Flash new Firmware Image" and "Online Upgrade."
You can click the "Check New Version" button to search for a newer version when the router has an internet connection. You can also check on the EV5X series firmware release page or contact our support team to get the latest and legacy version firmware archives.
The firmware archive file format ends with *.bin or *.img. Do not unzip the firmware archive, as it will cause MD5 verification to fail!
i. Keep Settings
A firmware upgrade will replace the firmware system with a new version. Before upgrading the firmware, it's recommended to download the backup archive of the current configurations.
Enabling the "Keep settings..." checkbox will run a standard upgrade that preserves current configurations, such as network and Wi-Fi settings, the device hostname, etc. The "Online Upgrade" option will automatically keep current settings.
Disabling the "Keep Settings" checkbox is recommended when there is a large gap between firmware versions or when the new firmware includes significant updates. Keeping settings will prevent the router from operating with the newly updated settings and might lead to conflicts.
It is advisable to disable "Keep settings" when flashing a legacy firmware version that is older than the current one.

ii. Local Upgrade
Click the "Choose File" button to select the firmware archive.
Tap the "Flash image..." button to upload the firmware archive. After uploading, you can proceed to the next step.
Verify the firmware image size and MD5 SHA256 checksums. It will report an error when an unqualified firmware file is uploaded.
It jumps to the "Flashing..." page, and the System indicator flashes. Wait 3β5 minutes for the firmware flashing and rebooting to be complete.
The "System" indicator remains green after a successful reboot. Reconnect to the router's hotspot or verify the wired Ethernet connection.
Finally, refresh the web admin page or open a new browser tab and visit http://192.168.30.1/.
iii. Online Upgrade
When the router has an internet connection, you can use the online upgrade function to automatically search for, download, and install the latest firmware. The online upgrade process will preserve the current router settings.
Suppose the newly upgraded firmware is less stable than the previous version. In that case, you can reset the router to remove preserved custom settings that might cause conflicts due to a significant gap between firmware versions.
Do not turn off the power or disconnect from the power supply while flashing the firmware. The firmware flashing process typically takes 3-5 minutes to complete. The system indicator remains green after a successful reboot.
Due to being specially optimized for 4G modems, it does not support any third-party firmware.
