VPN Tunnels

The outdoor router has integrated both OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols.

OpenVPN

You can upload the OVPN configuration file on the 4G router to start an OpenVPN connection. Please follow the tutorial below.

i. Upload OVPN Configuration File

You can download the configuration file from the OpenVPN provider. The file should end with *.ovpn.

  • After accessing the router's admin panel, navigate to "Services > OpenVPN."

  • Go to the section "OVPN configuration file upload."

  • Input an "Instance name" and click the "Choose File" button to upload a previously downloaded *.ovpn file.

  • Then click the "Upload" button to upload the *.ovpn configuration file.

  • Click the "Save & Apply" button to take effect.

ii. Edit the OpenVPN Instance

Most OpenVPN providers request their account and password input before connecting to their server.

  • Find the previously created OpenVPN instance and click the "Edit" button.

  • Go to the second section of adding "auth-user-pass," and input your account username and password on two lines, as shown below.

  • Click the "Save" button on the bottom right corner.

iii. Start OpenVPN Instance

Tap the check box on the "Enabled" column, and click the "Start" button on the created OpenVPN instance to start the OpenVPN connection.

Debug

If unable to activate the OpenVPN connection, please verify if the step ii user name and password are correct and valid.

If it still has a connection issue, please copy and send the system log for further debugging.
